When I Hold You
When I hold you in my arms,
My heart, I feel, leaves me.
It hangs as though a children's
charm
Then melts like Ice in tea.
In this moment, I am yours
As I feel that you're mine.
Our hearts as one leap and
soar
And escape all that's time.
Freedom, they say, comes with
cost
In battle, blood, and bronze.
But I see now how they're lost
Though they have seen no
wrongs.
What they miss is what I've
found
Its known without alarm.
Not up high nor underground,
It's holding you in my arms.
