When Love Is Forever
Resting on the beige leather couch
next to the dimly lit tiffany lamp
He dozed off into an early night sleep
She smiled looking at him
as She sat beside him
rubbing softly his tired feet.
She removed his specs
and book from the chest,
Took off her winter house-coat
leaned over and covered him with it
kissing his left cheek, feeling so blessed.
With eyes full of love She watched him
and wondered if he still sees her in his dreams
Like way back down memory lane
when he used to tug on tightly to his pillow
dreaming of her as he felt the midnight breeze
Did he still dream of moments way back
When he wanted so much to sit next to her
on that high-school old wooden park bench
or of those city strolls walking her home
holding her hand after the Saturday dance.
Everything was silent in the cosy room
And She remained there ...lost in thought ..
How She recalled treasured moments
of their curled toes brushing in the sand,
Of moments when his hand drenched
in rippled waves and playfullly splashed
water against her bare shoulders and over her face.
She could still smell the salt-spray in her hair.
So many yesterdays have passed since then
So many memories, so many changes
Him and Her forever changing...
Her porcelain skin ,now wrinkled
Her cascading chestnut hair turned grey
Yet one thing never changed.
Her heart, Her young heart remained constant
Just like the stars, the sun and moon
scorching their infinite flames.
Oncemore She reached so very close to him
So close She could feel the warmth in his breath
and feel his heart-beat to her own.
"Let me curl next to you", She whispered into his ear
"This night is ours my lovely dear".
"Death ! Oh death will have to wait another day
We'll beat the odds, like warriors, We'll beat them again
Together we can do anything,So hold me my love
Hold me in your sweet embrace..
Tomorrow,What is and when is tomorrow
Tomorrow If you leave before me
I keep on loving you,as long as I live
Whatever,wherever, come what may."
Not a bio .. inspired by the old couple in the Movie 'The Notebook'.
