Wher I Belong
Where I Belong
It’s a cold and rainy Friday night
Driving home I see my development in sight
The house is lit-up as I pull in
To my face it bring a grin
Quickly I climb the basement stairs
And I see my son waiting there
Hands held out for a hug
And we cuddle for a while on the rug
My wife soon comes and shares a kiss
These are the things when your gone you miss
She says, your home it’s time to relax
As she helps take the coat off my back
From the kitchen, dinner smells so good
Peeks my curiosity like nothing else could
I rest my tired bones on a chair
Where a hot cup of coffee is waiting there
Our dog jumps upon my lap
And after a few stokes, takes a nap
A quiet evening is shared by three
My wife, my son, and me
How I appreciate them, I hope they know
I hope I never fail to let it show
They are my life, my pride, and my love
A precious gift from God above
