Where Were You
Where were you, when I was burned and broken hearted?
While the days' slipped by my window so cold and dark.
Where were you when I was hurt and helpless?
Though, the things you've said, and the things you've done,
Made my heart feel as if it were useless.
Yet, you were hanging yourself on someone else's word,
Dying to believe what you heard.
Still to this day I stare straight into the shining sun,
Lost in thought and lost in time;
While the seeds of life and seeds of change were planted outside,
more than a hundred times.
When the rain fell dark and slow,
I ponder on this dangerous zone.
By passing time: I took a heavenly ride through our silences.
I knew this moment had arrived: for killing the past and coming back to life.
So I thought I'd try another heavenly ride,
But instead it was thoughtfully denied.
Then I knew then waiting had begun,
And I headed straight into the shining sun.
