Will You Carry Me
Will you carry me, as I have you,
Whether skies are grey or blue.
As time goes by and I grow older,
I fear my death will have no shoulder,
for me to lay and rest my head,
before I reach my final bed.
A last request, I don't ask much,
but please, give me one last touch,
just one last token of your love,
before I'm sent to God above.
Hold me proudly next to your ear,
and listen close, perhaps you'll hear,
me whisper 'thank you', sincerely.
I only ask you'll carry me.
