Winter Warmth
i peer out the window
now painted in delicate lace
and icicle valances
from winter’s cold breath
and retreat to your arms
for some warmth
the hands of time
beat lesser than my heart
beneath your touch
i arch my back
and move
like a shadow
cast on walls, i dance
beneath the flicker
of candle’s bright flames
there’s much fire
within desire
the wind mimics
lover’s moans
as winter’s blanket
covers the ground
and floor alike
then all falls quiet
as we drift, deep
asleep
sandy adams
fire and ice contest
