Love Poem: With a Flushed Heart

With a Flushed Heart

Empty throne ...
handkerchief in my hand
Missing a queen ...
	 feeling royal pain
We’re split asunder,
guess it wasn’t in the cards
		She spoke often to the bottle;
		and her backbiting, liquor friend
said loving me was too hard
When she was leaving me,
she touched me on my wet cheek
and said go easy on yourself
You’ll find what you need in somebody else
And now my emotions are swirling around,
my strength is taking a plunge
I’m so vulnerable right now, I’m so undone
Living with a flushed heart ...
don’t know if I will recover,
this is more than just a flesh wound
Fatal are my tears flowing down,
vortex of emotions swirling around
Living with a flushed heart ...
	I will survive,
but only if my water of hope rises again
Empty throne,
my right hand is missing a queen
		Wet handkerchief ... flushed heart
Tossing and turning at night
with agitated, swirling emotions —
having another one of those bad toilet dreams
	Flushed heart,
	missing my queen
	Royal ten is my pain,
feels like I’m getting jacked again
Lay down on a jagged diamond ace-shaped bed of tears,
				       holding a hollow engagement ring
Wiping my but ... but, Baby eyes after a toilet rinsing ...
        has got my sad, sad
                                        B.B. soul
                                                      blues singing:
The King is dead, long live the king!
The king is dead, long live the King!
