Yesterday Our Anniversary

Yesterday Our Anniversary

Yesterday, our anniversary
Could not bring myself to write
It was five and fifty
I still sleep alone at night

The last one that I spent with you
Is now three years ago
I still miss you in my arms
I just thought that you should know

The years we spent together
Were the best years of my life
By our Savior you were chosen
To be my love, my friend, my wife

January will be three years
That I've been here by myself
Your clothing and your memories
Still residing drawer and shelf

Your remains are on the dresser top
I touch your urn and say
“You know I'll always love you”
And will until my dying day

Then we'll be again together
With Christ Jesus on that shore
With love and peace around us
Living there forevermore

You may think this is a sad poem
But it's one that makes me glad
Memories of our years together
And of the great times that we had
