You Are Her
My heart was bound inside despair,
In sorrow's chains, and shackled grief,
It hid the pain, but showed the wear,
Into these bowels her presence reached
I had no peace until her eyes,
And when my heart it found a glance,
My sadness peered, to its demise,
My brightest day by happenstance
It moved at speeds compared to light,
It found no cause in asking me,
Her love shone in, and dawned my night,
A light for all my heart to see
It nearly broke and fell apart,
The cuts and tears so fraught with harm,
Her love restored, my failing heart,
Renewed with life inside her arms
Now in her presence, my heart's untethered,
And in her eyes, my days they shine,
Within her light, my nights are weathered,
Inside her arms, her love is mine
