You Are My Tomorrow
Every poet looks for a new tomorrow
a tomorrow yet to be experienced
an experience yet to be known
of an unknown tomorrow yet to be lived
We all have tomorrows full of hopes and dreams
this yearning in our hearts tells us
we know they’re out there ensconced in all our wishes
but emotions are hard to make reality
Some almost knowing the secrets of the infinite cosmos
have yet to fathom the inner workings of the mind
or the why of the soul or its connection to the heart
but we’re working on it they tell us
Tomorrows will come and go in our lifetime
and poets may spin love tales of past silvery moons
but all tomorrows for me lie in the beauty of your eyes
and the sweet warm affection you spoil me with
This I know, all my tomorrows will be next to you
to dissipate false hopes, to make dreams real, to make love
with the urgency that moves mountains and changes galaxies,
with an all enduring Love that transcends eternity.
