You Must Be Really Stupid If You Think I Don'T Love You

Unclaimed hero, where did you go?
Leaving behind just a bottomless hole
So innocent, no need to repent
I can't quite believe you must be heaven sent
I've never been made to feel so alone
Im here, so that's something you'll never know.
Chasing illusions that perhaps one fine day
I'll disgorge this enigma, and still you will stay
Not run off for miles, away from the truth
Pray your love for her will be empty of use
No word nor no sign, in Italian or rhyme
Reminders that THIS, is really a crime
If I lay on my back then I can't fall from grace
I feel secret smiles amplify on my face
I'll damage the surface if I try to prise
the proverbial wool that covers your eyes
A being so different in rule and design
Yet still, I'm afraid this connection's benign.

So why, may I ask, if you won't be mine
Do you give me the world, every second of time
Would all this be clearer if you knew yourself
My bumcheeks are splintered from sitting on shelves
It's not that it hurts, more a dull throbbing pain
Complacent that there's nothing ventured or gained
I could spell it in lights on the moon so you'd see
But I'm guessing you'd react by laughing at me
Just for once, please, take me seriously
Denying this makes you sillier than me
