Black Magic Hearts

What underhanded monkey business
razzle-dazzle bull is this?
Whose double-crossing, flimflam scam,
debauchery or hocus sham
is wheeling dealing in romance,
putting lovers in a trance?

Antics, capers or witch's brew,
enchanting hymns or shaman's stew,
whose quackery or voodoo drink
made Casanova stop and think
and turned the ancient lovers cold;
poor Romeo and nymphs of old?

Perhaps black magic's potent gel,
or craftiness or wicked spell,
a clever con or master hoax,
or just some trickster playing jokes.
Whatever ruse that works the arts,
mumbo jumbo seduces hearts!

Cupcake Craving

Our granddaughter loves cupcakes.
Someday, she wants to run a cupcake business.
Someday, she wants to be a beautician.
Someday, she wants to specialize in makeup.
Someday, she wants to be a singer.
Someday, she wants to be a songwriter.
Someday, she wants to go to college.

I’m voting for number one
and number seven.
I love cupcakes.
If she goes to college,
her cupcake business might succeed.

You go, girl!

Road Kill

Ok, this is where I was
A few miles since you last saw me.
A little before sun up,
Before I became road kill.

Stay closer and I'll tell you more.
May I ask, before,
When will I see you again?
Your pure and unnatural thing,
Your nut house?

It's never so easy
When you are road kill like me
Not even hurried
No one checking If I'm here.

Who are you anyway,
To have ever looked this way?
A love letter to road kill,
That spirited, wounded animal
With unfinished business.

Ok, so where were you?
Did you think it wasn't spelled out
Clearly a few miles since I last saw you?
Before you became road kill?

The Day Dad Planned His Funeral

They said you needed surgery.
You said 'There's business I must do.'
I drove you to the funeral home.
The arrangements were for you.

I had to wait outside that day.
I couldn't go in there.
I don't know how you made those plans.
You showed how much you cared.

You knew you wouldn't make it.
You feared the end was near.
I hate what your life did to you.
I wish you were still here.

How do you plan your funeral?
Were you as scared as I?
What were your thoughts heading to the docs?
Did you know that you would die?

If I could turn back time and say
the things I'd like to say,
I'd say 'I love you' and 'I'll miss you.'
'I wish that you could stay! '

Affection

The Business of affection

When you couple fall in love
and the love is broken and
not following its natural course
to fulfilment and a union of hearts
that sings from the same musical
sheets of harmony
The one left alone will feel a pain
that is physical in it intensity
no one night stand fuelled by alcohol
can assuage a hearts loneliness
In time the person will fall in love again
and again and leave behind
broken marriages should he be a man
we call him a Casanova and if it is
a woman she is feisty.
But they are lonely people trying to find
back to the feeling of the first love

Ain'T Nobody's Business

The very sound of your voice
Caresses my bones
I dare not move away.

For fear of losing you
Just the thought of you
Gives me a high I swear.

I never wanna come down
When it feels this good
Being wrapped up in you.

I love it when you touch me like that
I can feel your heartbeat inside me
Beating as though it were my own.

Ain't nobody's business
In what I do with you
As long as you love me
The way you do !!!

Wild Flowers For My Love

if i died tonight
i’d have wild flowers
i’d wish i’d gathered
fields i’d wish i’d run
seas i’d still long to sail
unfinished business
unsent birthday cards
unsung melodies and
unpainted flowers on
unstarted canvases askew
i’d have poems still unwritten
but i’d mostly have the memory of you
savoring the last words
i’ve said a million times before
how i’d always and forever love you
forever and a day

The Mandala of a Day

Is created by us......... but we forget this and fuss. Our noses in our neighbors, worse another nations' business. We forget love and compassion, how unique, we are. Ah, striving to be number one, to be the outstanding star! How easily humanity falls off track. Don't you get that you are perfect and that's just that? Some days are up, some are down. Unless you have zero integrity, then you prance about like a clown. Get you are great, your mind will say NO. Just jump into the canoe of life and go. The Mandala of your day, created in beauty and kindness. It's your umbrella of conscious mindfulness                 12/7/2020

Blackmail

(This is a fictional poem)

I have a bullet in my chest and I'm about to die.
I saw a man kill his wife and I decided to blackmail the guy.
I'm really scared, I didn't count on getting shot.
I asked him for a quarter of a million but a bullet was what I got.

I should've called the police and turned him in.
Now I'll never be able to make love or even see a sunrise again.
He just drove away and the time I have left is getting shorter and shorter.
He will be brought to justice because I just named him as my killer on my tape
recorder.

Greatly

I glanced at him on his knees
donning tears and a robe
wiping bullet and blood off the streets.

He slowly made his way toward
the broken business zone.
A worn carpenter's belt in tow
a soft light was around him
as the crowd began to grow.

He helped the last hatter board up his store.
A nail between his teeth
as broken glass and bottle caps
played taps to a windy city beat.
He then placed a few signs in the ground
that said vote for candidate faith
and said-believe in the divine.

His time was soon up
it was time for him to go
once again, he was called back to
his father's gilded abode.
As he left he turned around and simply said
love one another... greatly.

True Attraction Begets Love

The attraction between male and female
Is truly a force of nature
So powerful even in strife
It literally creates life.

People fall in love
They keep their business themselves
Want to stay together
And wish to stay forever.

Once Again Thank You

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
 and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,

i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,

once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

Dry Your Tears

Dry your tears, clear your eyes
Ease your pain with mournful sighs
Soon the grief will fade away,
When you hear what i have to say.

I don't mean to pry
In your business or life,
But i don't like it when you cry...
I want to know what is wrong in your life!

Don't shed away
Tell me what's wrong
And everything will be okay,
No matter what you say.

Everybody has problems,
And everyone has pain,
If you don't deal with them,
You'll have nothing to gain.

Dry your tears, clear your eyes
Ease your pain with mournful sighs'
Soon the grief will fade away......
When you hear what i have to say!

Such a Nice Guy

Wesley Melvin Buchan, also known as Wesmechan,
 was a pusillanimous and a good-for-nothing,
although some people consider him a charlatan,
this scoundrel's office runs like a three-ring

circus. Oddly enough, many his coworkers and
classmates fear him no end, like a spider obsessed
with the asphyxia of planets, but the magic wand,
however, whether you like it or not, will infest

your brain and your wallet. Far from being a panegyric
this is indeed a diatribe, injected by venomous expletives,
deserved by this lunkhead, Wesley, a most idiotic
waste of space but I love him, although he's not my relative.

Love, Responsibility, Burden and Loyalty

love is the spell your under
when you give your heart and mind
it sometimes last a little while
and for some it last a life time

responsabilities to care for
obligations to pay for
always fighting just like war
take away the joys

burdens have been carried for years and years
sleepless night because of our fears
it's inescapable when things are shared
the unforgiven things you did

loyalty that lasted fifty years
the trust that grew when things were through
the reason to wake and live another day
the oneness of mind that comes with age

Hip Hop Won'T Die

some days I'm neither decisive nor constant still in mid step advancing parallel combining
due stress pre-tense in depth, feign fair, fair is not love nor hate, objecting
lines turning war torn due reputations proceeding by stride and sweat pourn ,
but the clocks harder at self gaining advantage and foolish lost to
insincerity, caused by quotes barley examples of thought misunderstood .

Im Just Gonna Snap Okay Get Over It

i dont care who you are
or what you think of me
build me up and break me down
then take your "stuff"* and flee

i hate you
you know it too
so bring it to my plate
take a point and hold my ground
to not spew all my hate

you were so nice in the beginning
well, what the "heck"* are you now?
gone, love, thats what you are
a filthy ugly cow

i am still the nice guy
lord, you have said so much worse
and still im here, i still get by
a blessing, not a curse.

i didnt snap hard enough to say what i meant

What flies though the air up above
Disguised as a peace seeking dove

Drones can send you the bird

The Siren Sergeant -

One day while marching
on the road to madness
I fell in love with a woman
known as sadness,

she rode up on the shore
glazed in sapphire honey,
knowing no mercy
slapping the land,
forgiveness in her thought,
studed destruction in her hand,

our wit and sheilds calashing,
the battle a draw - together -
we as one collapsing to the sand,
we engaged in hot behavior
but the game was always in her favor -
