love, rose,
If love could have a color, I suppose
it wouldn’t be just any common shade.
I’d name it for the colors of the rose.
In heaven’s hues this flower is arrayed!
From chaste love’s hush of pink to heady rush
that’s shown by cardinal or crimson red,
the rose reveals the grades of ardor’s blush
unto the time it’s thought that passion’s fled.
But in the tint of amaranth, the fire
endures; in purple deep it can transcend,
while yellow blooms in bliss that does not tire,
and white’s fidelity will have no end.
Though black the bud, a red will grow thereof.
By any other name, the rose is love.

Heavy steel blue clouds dominate
The morning sky before day
A cool but dampness fills the air
Out on the porch to stay
A short while to enjoy the view
Before the sun rise red
To hear the crickets sing their tune
And roosters' song some dread
A Cardinal chirps to his mate
Songs of love at daybreak
Magenta coats horizon's clouds
Beautiful ~ no mistake
The Master Artist strokes earth's canvas
With colors of his design
Man can try to duplicate them
Given a lifespan of time
Beauty for just a few minutes
Then swish nature's scene's changed
Cobalt blue clouds hang suspended
As fog floats 'pon the range

berry bright singer on snowy landscape
tragedy’s summer sting leaves me undone
warm tears still fall on autumn leaves
till winter shrugs its cold shoulder
ushers isolation as my somber heart grieves
return, wee harbinger of spirit connection
your engaging trill evokes smiles
and his voice fills me with recollection
oh, cardinal, turn your songs to love’s ember
convey my gratitude to a love that passed
let your melody gently whisper, “remember”

devotion, faith, life, naturesun,
Someone dipped their fanbrush
Into the charcoal gray
Painted the sky in whispy clouds
To open up my day
They softeded the dreary color
By telling the sun to rise
Bringing a harvest of cherries
Right before my sleepy eyes
Thanks be to the benefactor
Who graced my day with surprise
How I love these charcoal mornings
With color in the Eastern sky
The sun has now painted
The clouds an apricot color
Looks like a gaint female Cardinal
Flying through the air
What a way to begin a day
With color that flies so fair

No need, the vanity of life
No need the silly, foolish quest
’Tis not a contest or a feat
To contemplate which one is best
For beauty lives within the mind
And so its shape or hue may change
It’s value is no more, no less
For one it’s real, for one it’s strange
The color of the world we know
The gentle grace of its delight
That beckons us to touch the love
Grows lovelier with every sight
To celebrate with nature’s gift
With every gaze that I suppose
Would never choose between the two

you appear as only you can
breezing in softly as a feather
whispering sounds of a bird and
with angelic love shown through
each night before closing my eyes
I wish hard waiting to see you
asking still to hear your voice
just as a cardinal there you are
lasting footprints clearly remain
as your essence forever shadows me
guiding me from what was to what is
and the reality of how we were one
on any given night I continue my plea
for another video of sight and sound
hoping you'll visit or return to me
holding hands in feathered dreams

Love is like a tropical island
It is found in every direction you look
North, south, east and west on the map
where it sits very patiently
surrounded by calm seas
if not found there would be no paradise
Love is like a tropical island
for which its suitors search for its gold
within its golden sand, if it's not found
the island's volcanoes will erupt
and there would be no paradise
Love is like a tropical island
Where its suitors convey knowledge
Of every cardinal point, ocean depth
And trade winds all over the island
If they aren't able to locate
Its golden treasure
There would be no paradise

love, me, time,
My mind is still on your Grecian isle yet lost
Through time to another place where I exist
As Sappho sings her songs to me once more
And time unites worlds.
I dream as you lie beside me of rivers
Winding gently down your sloping hills, curving
Around the whispered breeze as you breathe, inhaling
Senses from my heart.
Awaken Aphrodite with discreet kisses
Placed in indiscreet places as sunlight calls
Revealing the night of cardinal pleasure
And whispers hello!

symbols of butterflies grace and cardinals too

revealing you are fine and always near
bestowing the gift you walk beside us

Wonderful Sight
I saw a most wonderful sight;
A red cardinal feeding a sparrow
Beak to beak.
Compassion for big doves
Hogged the bird feeders,
Now why can’t we be like that?

emotions, love, , cute,
You know , the eternal adoration is so sensuous
that makes the bond magically
towards the heart full of its poised essence.
And I am obedient enough to this wonderful color
of evergreen passion
lying on my inner eyes of captivating glance.
Nothing can be as cute as its early looks,
soft, tacit,tender , majestic
spectacularly grabs the flawless of my soul's reliance.
I never mind however the joy and woe are
woven into the kingdom of subjective life
in fact ,I venerate the spirit of its psychological sense.
Where there is mind there is alteration
and I look after the pep between this immutable gap
by capturing the images of each episode on my open lens.

beautiful,
January snow storm
it started last night,
didn't know how much expect
but I wasn't filled with fright.
I love when the snow falls
so long as there isn't too much,
enjoy hearing it crunch 'neath my feet
I take pictures and such.
I went out and shoveled this morning
just for something to do,
my morning coffee had to wait
but that didn't make me blue.
Why be upset with a little bit?
About two feet is what we got,
it's still snowing outside though
and it still doesn't bother me a lot.
I'd like to get a picture of a blue jay
or even a cardinal...or two,
I would print them out
that would be something new.

love, planet,
O! Sunnier than the sun is my love’s shine,
Her radiance gives birth to jocund mirth.
More lunatic in prowess fixed to pine,
Her aspect crazes more than pale moon’s dearth.
More martial in her count’nanced iron will,
Her courage braves the fields of warring doubts.
More swift, mercurial quick my thoughts are still,
Her face in them has ruling cardinal clout.
More jovial crowned, in manners utmost royal,
Her seat of influence has kingly stead.
More saturnine are those whose love’s most loyal,
Her absence grave as weighted bullet’s lead.
My love does bend the thieving gods’ weak knees,
Devoted strongly with venereal ease.

introspection, love,
To love oneself and be at peace within
is neither greed nor yet a cardinal sin.
Unless ourselves we love in every way
there's no tomorrow in our darkest day.
When thus self love has filled our inner need
it’s only then our souls are truly freed.
For only that embedded in our heart
can be the seeds of love that we impart.
To give is better far than to receive,
to give what you have not will just deceive.
The love expressed by those who self do hate
will not survive the pressures of their fate.
To love oneself and be at peace within
is neither greed nor yet a cardinal sin.

bird, death, rose, sad,
The Cardinal, who loved a Rose
appeared to woo her one spring morn
but came too near a hidden thorn,
so eager she should hear his prose
He lit to sing but quick arose,
blood slick upon the wing he'd torn
She may as well have pierced his heart,
yet being a tenacious bird,
the Cardinal was not deterred
from love of his fierce counterpart
Though still he bled, he did impart
his song and once the Rose had heard,
he flew, unsteady, to the eave
lay down his head and took his leave
