The Blessings of Prayer

Like a gazelle springing from left to right
Your prayers come winging through perilous night

Making swift haste to my ill beating heart.
I was amazed at how many took part,

So deeply moved, there are tears in my eyes.
Dark thunderous clouds have moved to clear skies.

My gratitude floods to poetry friends
I’m humbled by your love as my heart mends.

Potd Good Night,Poets of Gold Pens

     ~Poetesses and Poets, Divine~

All over this great planet we live,
Penning our thoughts, and love to give!

With our hearts, as lanterns so bright,
Writing with hearts into this summer night.

Pen thee, then, of nature’s fine beauty.
Quietly, we are world Muses on duty.

Creations we form of happiness and sorrow.
Moonlight and dreams, on which to borrow!

A hug from me, now..close your eyes.
Tomorrow is both a gift and a surprise!

Hugs,

Desire Love Romance

All lovely words
when understood

All so misconstrued
silence envelopes our delusions

Desire, we lust the attention
at the forfeit of philosophy

Love, we crave at Kings expense
	at times
Sacrificing those whom love us true
			spilling blood at humanities alter

Romance, we desire for loves embrace
knowing serpents sell snake oil remedies

Beware the soft spoken
cringe when you hear words only a token

Seeking the truth, not platitude
discover love, in those that.........

Breathe actions, not poetic verse

Your Child's Eyes

The innocence lost so long ago
The undying faith we used to know
The gentle rain of a summer's skies
You can find it all in your child's eyes.

The world was right one time it seems
And we could reach beyond our dreams
To meet a challenge of any size
That fire still burns in your child's eyes.

In a world of anger and miscontent
And the frustrations of a life misspent
And you wait in fear as the storms arise
You can still find peace in your child's eyes.

Take the time for all those things
Hear his words: feel the joy he brings
There is no hate; there are no lies
There is only love in your child's eyes.

The Treasure of Birth

It's hard to describe
that true sense of pride

that comes with the worth
of your babies birth

A child takes your heart
right from the start

and wills you to sow
a love destined to grow

From dress ups to cupcakes
from boo-boos to heartbreaks

it's all worth the pain
from the treasure we gain

Time spent together
can only be measured

in memories we hold
as part of our soul

God keep this life
from turmoil and strife

give it love and care
and blessings to share

For all that we ask
is that we're up to the task

and do all that we must
to honor your trust.

Two Pairs of Shoes

Two pairs of shoes beside the bed.
Mine are tiny, his large instead.

His are steel toed, sandals are mine.
His dull and dark, but mine have shine.

Opposites yes, just like our shoes.
When I'm happy, he has the blues.

My secret to brighten his mood...
A large rare steak, his kind of food.

I like the soaps, he likes the news.
When I watch mine, he takes a snooze.

I can't stand to see people die...
Watching his news just makes me cry.

Even though, we might have a fight
Love keeps us together all night.

And each night when we go to sleep.
Two pairs of shoes, company keep!

Pink Champagne and Satin Opera Gloves

As wild as unbridled seas,
soft as mist, a spindrift tease.
Night stars swoon and fall from skies;
constellations fill her eyes.
Every leaf stirs in her wake,
bottom to top, mountains quake.
Beaux like grapes bunch on her vine,
blood in veins she turns to wine.
Kisses sipped, her cherry lips.
Saké nip, rock ‘n roll hips;
tongue-and-groove celebration,
sensual saturation.
Her riptide lures sand from shore,
tsunami, when she wants more.

My Love She'D Lent

~ MY LOVE SHE'D LENT ~

I followed her where'er she went
Lured onward by her fragrant scent

She clasped his hand, a handsome gent
How could she know my love she'd lent

I died one thousand deaths inside
Choked back my tears with wounded pride

How long such anguish could I bear
My heart asunder to let tear

The hour had come to make my move
My love for her I had to prove

Unsteady I, and quite unsure
Just how to break the news to her --

My tongue was still despite I tried
'To ask her this: 'Please be my bride.'

Entertainer-Anacreontic Couplets

Charmed by her exotic glance She enchants a sexy dance In costumed display of art Strumming rhythms of joyful heart Choreographing slow grooves In graceful, musical moves As gestures paint passion themes And song of love stokes their dreams When desires-enamored spree Hypnotized in tunes of glee But look closely, watch her sigh Hear the bawl of tearless cry When crowds deceitful extol Exhibit of anguished soul As smiles aesthetic hide pain And feigned visage cries disdain Cheer for her to turn the page For she longs to leave this cage Leave realms inebriated Of drunk notions, ill-fated

Sailors Follow

Those stars that sailors follow
Guiding less the sea to swallow

And the night seas black as tar
Beyond the wave a land afar

Halyards taught, blocks in tallow
Breezes fresh and salt swallow

Timbers creak, white horses foam
Callused hands and oceans comb

And the stars pull them forth
South, east, west and north

Cabin boy or salty jack
Afore the mast, bare their back

Seas of glass or howling gales
Stands his watch what ever ails

For them the ocean a magic place
For every dawn a changing face

The face of his one true love
The wind, stars, skies above

From the Deepest Caves One Name Echoed

Smiling hotly you're the flame captured underneath
burning with a sunrise golden gleam frosted

Sparkling within dewdrops crystals crash
over oceans waves rise and fall to grace

At your feet adoring they kiss salt saluting promise
kneeling upon the sand footprints hold ground held

Those inside one thousand memories wrapped forever
perfect jewel you are the pearl of a deep sea always crowned

Lustre of one rainbow washed clean cut perfect flower
white lily from the heart of love you brought peace

Supreme Being

When you came to me the earth revolved then stood still
dressed jewel of purest sunlight circled in gold mere reflections

Through the oceans wings sailing inside waves embrace
we rise and fall drawing from a breathless air filled with Peace

Caught up within the sparkle lustre that sings from an echo returning
twinkling stars light warmly together ally an alliance between souls

Captured brightly the spirit of eternal beauty brings, under glowing beams
when we act together as one temple forever crowns the heart to Love

I Don'T Write Poems

I don’t write poems,
I drink them like wine,
I become tipsy
with each coming line.

I don’t write poems,
I breathe them like air,
I become so happy
when each one I share.

I don’t write poems,
I live with them;
they prolong my years,
they are as true as I am.

I don’t write poems,
I weave into verses
sadness, joy, tears,
prayers, love, curses…

My poems talk and sing,
Sense of living they bring.

Butterfly Wings

Like butterfly wings so fragile and soft 'neath my fingertips.
So featherlike are his kisses upon my waiting ruby lips.

The playful flutter of his fingers that dance upon my skin.
Such sweet pleasures it brings like a sensuous forbidden sin.

His loving embrace so tender like the wings of a beautiful butterfly.
His words soft and heartfelt their beauty brings a tear to my eye.

Golden Streets of Friendship

At first, remember how we were
skeptical strangers?
Then, by mystical magic, we
melted into close friends!
I hope we meet in the golden streets
of heaven!
Where our friendship never ends!

As I Slow Dance With Memories

As I slow dance with memories ,
haunting dreams of you gently glide through the grand halls of my mind.
Where you held me close in loving arms, their warmth I did find.

Fingertips play my heartstrings as you told me I belong.
As I slow dance with memories to a never ending song.

Two hearts that beat as one to the rhythm of love soft and low.
Memories of the night pirouette 'neath a lovers moon that glow.

You held me oh so close as our eyes did meet.
Tender kisses shared from lips so warm and sweet.

Fingertips play my heartstrings as you told me I belong.
As I slow dance with memories to a never ending song.

Just Your Face

Futile is the sun to a heart in awe
And trivial is the moon's cosmic fame

All these voices are nothing but noises
These Flowers are like invisible stars

For what's it that the universe contains
Nothing... but your face to keep me sane

Only your voice brings exceptional joy
Only your lovely smile can make me fly

A Poet's Spring

I will absorb the warm sunshine today,
I'll wrap myself within a golden ray.
Nature's music enchants the tropic air
Where windswept waves will spur me to declare

The tender wishes I've been dreaming of,
That younger years when we first fell in love
Could cross the barriers of time's sweet past
And return pain free bodies that would last.

When the young speak about the golden years
They do not realize the many fears
That plague us as we reach that golden age.
They do not understand our pent-up rage

At doing simple things we used to do
Can be too much and soon pain will ensue.
Poetry can return us to our spring
Where youth of green is seen in everything.

Drunken Lips - Anacreontic couplets

May one love you like Shakespeare? Write verses to bring you near. In delicate sighless sips, taste wine from your drunken lips, as drops induce and seduce, become drunk from your sweet juice.

Love without Flowers

How can love blossom without flowers
full-bodied roses to gaze at for hours

When the vase is empty so is the heart ~

Sara, My Glimpse of Heaven

Oh, glimpse of heaven’s beauty sent,
To share my love before it’s spent.

To save me from a loveless life,
You’ve sent an angel for my wife.

To join with me down life’s long road,
To share and lighten lifetime’s load.

For joys and problems life doth hold.
We’ll build our love to make us bold.

We’ll do our best in this man’s land,
To serve our God and with Him Stand.

The Luckiest Man

The Luckiest Man

I have found that not everyone is as strong
As the skies are wide and the days are long

But in life I have found there is this one
Whose bounty makes me feel as warm as the sun

And from the moment that she first caught my eye
I knew I’d be with her til’ the day that I die

That I would love and cherish her all the day through
And do all those little things we men are supposed to do

And spend my days lost in utter bliss
That I had this beautiful woman to kiss

And there’s one true fact ‘bout her being my girl
That makes me the luckiest man in the world

Please Give Me Wings

Wash my heart and make it clean
Remove the grime from where it's been

Take my idle hands make them yours
Use them to open holy doors

My cracked lips long to sing your praise
Be my Mistro the rest of my days

Guide my calloused feet along your path
I wish to know Love and not your wrath

Take my arms place them around the poor
Help me realize I need less not more

Plant your precious thoughts in my mind
Change me from selfish, make me kind

let me see your face with my eyes
Remove my ignorance make me wise

Apart from you I cannot be whole
Thank's for this reconditioned soul

One day my life will end, I know it's true
Please give me wings, so I can fly to you
