Cowboys Cry Too

C casually stands next to his saddled horse
O openly he weeps (so) full of his remorse
W what is left of pale pink running rose that grew
B blood floods from thorn pricks he's getting his due
O oh! tangled web with his love he did weave
Y yesterday she discovered all his cowboy lies believed

Cowboys and Angels

He knelt and prayed
He asked for a mate to help him throughout life
He asked for a friend
He beseeched for a love that would never end

What he received was more than what he had hoped for
She is stubborn beautiful kind and gentle and her fire caught his desire
She is all that he requested and more
His life will never be the same
Especially once he changes her name

She love him for him and nothing more
He is her friend and confidante and her mate
He is her everything

So the Cowboy and his Angel have each other
Fate was kind no more feather or fur
For now and throughout time

Numb With Fear Part 2

I am in deep despair
I fear my name he will smear
I don’t know who he is
But I hope he uses a little sense.

I understand My Cowboys
Heard about OUR LOVE STORY
And this one guy
Says he’ll tell ALL

I don’t know what he can tell
Billy wasn’t a gossip
And neither am I
So whatever you do hear
Will surely be lies

I didn’t know how to title this poem
Head Hung is used and also Boo Hoo
And I didn’t know what to do
So I though I should at least warn you.

Please, Please I beg of you
Take it all with a grain of salt
And if you should choose
A little bit of lime is good too.

So I hear

Cowboys

All I ever wanted was a good ol' country boy
Someone to love me, not treat me like a toy
Searching lands so far and wide
To hold a cowboy by my side

To hear a southern drawl would be
Oh so sweet and heavenly
He'd be true polite and kind
I'd never not be on his mind
Lighting a fire in my heart
That makes me warm right from the start

Sharing drinks inside a bar
Dancing underneath the stars
Cozy rides upon a horse
Our love will always stay on course

My wish is finally coming through
When I heard YEE HAW from you
Smiling oh so handsomly
I knew you walked out of my dreams

My Passion

My passion is sports, always has been, always will be...

Be it, pro football, college football, baseball, college basketball, pro basketball,
hockey or soccer, I love it all...

I live and die by my favorite teams, be it the Braves, Cowboys, Penn State or Flyers, I'm
a passionate and emotional fan...

I cheer loudly when they do good, and yell even louder when they screw up...

I love my teams, and, I'll never apologize for my passion for them....

Brother Mine

Brother mine, remember when
We were just two country boys
Inseparable we were back then
Cowboys, Indians, and wooden toys

Racing a foot down to the barn
Some silly prize for he who won
Chores we did there on the farm
Supper when day was done

The many things we did as one
Regardless what the endeavor
Our love has lived as it begun
And it will be forever

Cause and Effect

Game...life? Some would say so:
up in the morning with a sprint--
my court or yours?
dribble a few ideas,
toss them toward the hoop--
my foul or yours
depends on who choose
the referees,
who is keeping score,
your stadium
or your in-laws'.

We build such
huge amphitheaters,
call ourselves Lions--
even Christians forget--
Cowboys and Indians--
what good is life
without an opponent
a foe?
tell that to those in the Peace Corps,
or those battling AIDS;
what need for a God
if not for a devil?

God forgive
our lack of love....

Lies and Green Eyes

I saw her riding in the moonlight
She rode lonely with tears in her eyes
He'll be a memory tomorrow
But tonight she's dealin' with his lies

Her daddy had been a wand'rin' man
Mama had told her to choose with care
She fell for a cowboy with blue eyes
He told her he loved her golden hair

They planned a wedding for early June
Then a home, laughter, a child or two
She hadn't foreseen that green eyed gal
Who bed her cowboy for somethin' to do

Now she rides alone 'neath pale moonlight
And knows his memory will be sad
She'll deal with his lies and his blue eyes
And hope cowboys don't all turn out bad

Cowboys

Light in the eyes
out at sunrise
it truly is no surprise
riding out to check the lines
my my I do have a sore behind and tired mine
it 's not easy being greasy
so please don't try to understand a cowboys life
it is no wonder why he has no wife of course
all he has to keep him warm is a guitar and a song
for he is alone
while he sits upon his horse thinking of love loss
and time gone he is old with nothing to show
all that he is and once was is forgotten
now all that is left is just tee shirt, jeans with hole and boots that if they could talk
what tales they would tail
of nights spent in jail
kicking up dust
women he couldn't trust

To Roses

A scarlet tear drips o'er the thorn,
As she runs her stained fingernails along the edge.
The blade digs a little deeper:
Beautiful like her lips that speak so silently;
In the irony of a moment, she fades.

As a summer rosebud in blossom penetrates;
The starlit sunlight's gasp against twilight's chill;
A sharp cold turns to the flu.
Dances of fever and anger o'er the horizon:
Blood splatters across the sky.

After the battle of her dreamy cowboys against bison;
She stares up in wonder at this moment.
As she continues to caress the blade;
That lovely rosebud cuts a little deeper into the flesh.
She blesses the curse of roses.

Cowgirl With In Me

My hopes, prayers, and dreams.

The cowgirl with in me.

I'm just a cowgirl, born and raised
in the south that's what they say.

Just a cowgirl, no care in the world
that's what they think.

A cowgirl that goes around breaking
the cowboys heart's, that's what they hear.

The cowgirl who has her own dreams
about the real things in life.

Just a cowgirl who pray's for some
one to hold her at night.

A cowgirl that hopes for one day
she'll fall in love.

The cowgirl with in me no one
knows her anymore, she got all this
but now she doesn't know what to do with it.

These are my hopes, prayers, and dreams
that i found in a BAR.

Lovers On the Sun

David Guetta said it best

Mine has no cowboys, horses or guns
Mine is just us two
Just the way we met under this sun
Walking the streets of Nairobi
Exploring the city's day and night
Drinking cold beers
Mostly listening to your stories and dreams
Napping to you reading poetry to me
Watching your goofy dance that one night
The three moods that made us: the anticipation, the excitement and the continuing wonder.
Keeps the shine on...

Don'T Push Me

from toys to boys
came such a life of joy

playing cowboys and indians
and robbing those trains

nearly drove our mother insane

from jumping mound hills
to wiping out and taking spills

that ice pack sure had some nice chills

from pulling hair
to tugging on each other's underwear

just me and my little brother in a world of dare

so when it comes to that old saying
of two peas in a pod

I tend to thank my god above
for my little brother who I used to love

playing our games like push and shove

The West

The West

A gun, a holster, bullets…
A glass of whiskey and
a ten-gallon hat.
A horse, a saddle, a bridle…
and bags to hold it all.

Good guys, bad guys,
sheriffs, and hoods.
Shoot outs, long rides,
and even skinning hides…
just for a living.

Heroes and villains…
Fought caught and hanged…!
Eternally glorified,
all around the world.

Cowboys of fame…
never refrain.
You are who you are…
Spaghetti to hard sand,
a rare, uniquely, promised land.

Deserts and high country,
Indians and explorers…
Men of great pride!
Your word, your bond,
Your story,
will last long.
Forever.

Me Vs My Homeboy Saffrawnn

Saffrawnn your still a baby.
So you better stay in school.
Learn Texas Cowboys are whack as hell.
But Oklahoma Sooners ain't so kool.
So your a Jr. in high school.
Livin bright at 17.
Probably gonna end up,
writing and producing many things.
Yeah you got potential skills.
No ID or license yet.
But I been doin this for years
I've already been a vet.
See I would love to battle you.
Worse than Superman vs Batman
But we all know who the winner is,
there is no doubt about that young man.
So write what you want about my old self.
But years of experience,
make it an easy battle.
So while you think of a comeback,
I'll be herding all the cattle!

God Loves Cowboys

God must love cowboys
for He knew how to make
a high mountain vista
   to make the heart ache.
A musical stream bed
   with water so sweet
Just one single mouthful
and your thirst will be beat.
A soft, gentle shower
   to cool a hot day
and a faithful old horse
to carry you on your way.
A nice shady glen
to bed down for the night
and a glorious sunrise
   to start the day right.

Who Says You Can'T

Who says you can’t get stoned
Turn of the lights and fly out the window

Who says you can’t be free
Open your mind; let love be

Who says you can’t rock out
Close your eyes and sing out loud

Who says you can’t be friends
Open your hand; lend a hand

Who says you can’t get stoned
Plant a few seeds and get lost among the trees

Who says you can’t be free
Leave the corporate leash; be who you want to be

Who says childhood can come back
Get lost in wax crayons and cracker jacks

Who says a hart can’t brake
Look around at all this hate

Who says a rose doesn't smell
Take a deep breath and laugh out loud

Who says cowboys have to sing sad songs
Not all roses have thorns

Shy Cowboy

I saw you here sitting next to me, afraid to say my true feelings for you.
Holding my thoughts in to take it slow, cause I like you.
Oh ya, very much.
Just a shy cowboy waiting to rope your heart; like cowboys do.
Two steppin’ and smiling at each other, running wild together tonight, drinkin’ that Tennessee whiskey.
Spinning you into my arms, holding onto you.
With our hearts pounding against one another beating to our rhythm.
Slowly taking your smoldering kiss like fire against my lips.
Driving me crazy with your kiss.
Taking you by the small of your back, sliding you in tight, for some more cowboy fun.
Oh ya, your smoldering kiss like fire against my lips.

Just Right Tonight

the music is just right tonight
listening to cowboys sing the blues
and all the while I'm dancing with him
I remember 'bout dancing with you

as I set down another long neck
and take a cowboy's hand
the steel guitar is whining
lights reflecting on the bandstand

the wood floor is real crowded
and we give it just one more go
as he wraps his arms around me
it's not the cowboy that I know

My Naked

Feeling so unclothed in my newest dress
having no knowledge of mine
Unraveling crocheted phantasms
My head is of lead, my body of soot
Traded in my prettiest songbird
for a kind word
For a free I conceived so wide
A mouth agape, bellowing my soul song
I dreamed him a succulent sweetness
With bigger hands
As rain floods all my never
I think of your brother’s leisurely cow eyes
Cyclones if unearthed beauty
To be admonished by only those that paid mind
And so I cursed the only true voice
Solipsistic techno dream carry me
And to all the cowboys that wrangled me
My heart beats too
