Rain

I love to feel the
wind on my face;
Bask in the warmth
of the sun’s embrace.
As light misty rain
touches my skin
In divine delight
I go within. . .
The wind becomes
an internal force.
The sun enters my heart
on its course,
But rain endeavors
to keep me whole
And helps to sustain
my very soul.

© 2011 Connie Marcum Wong

This poem was written to be metaphoric with the
wind representing internal conflict, the sun having a
calming effect and the rain quenching spiritual thirst.
I am sure no one will get it, so I thought I would explain.

I have had recent eye surgery so my time on the computer is limited.

what is why as the metaphoric world
spins fibers once organic now plasmatic

damsels in drag, boots in high-heels
dancers swimming in tap-tap-tap

bras in search of breasts of real
nipples slip into a safety net

you sip away at your ghost
i toast with two pills and jello

Metaphoric Flower

To be honest
Winter stings
And it forever broke my heart, but to tell you the truth
I'm addicted to the pain
Addicted like a drug addict
Winter froze my heart
And took away the dandelions for its own pleasure
But it forgot one
Left it deep in the cave
Living with no sun
I met it the other day while writing a haiku
Last one to leave my
Broken heart
Alone
It tries to glue my life back together
But I'm already gone

If You'Ve Got the Poison We'Ve Got, the Remedy

Ironic, how these wheels of time come round about....
Metaphoric make-shift boats sailing back across her Atlantic
Refugees fleeing their ancient ruins ? Turgid waters crashing skies
Blame it on the revolution but the truth is, they were never more than
A footnote stuffed within some dusty book case kept, amid some dusty room.

Sos

Do not fall in love with a poet:
Breakfast would be a couplet.

Lunch would be a quatrain:
Personified, pithy and prolix on metaphoric train.

Supper would be a sonnet:
Smithereens of oomphs, entangled in esurience's enmesh.

On the spousal sunshine,
He would sew suit of slant rhymes.

For how long he would last in bassinet:
Measured in Troche, dactyl, anaspetic or iambic pentameter.

Advice for the shavers and doxy:
Lofty metaphors Clothed in paradoxical antithesis.

Talk more of many other things,
Your home is hyperbole of poetry.

Translucent Wings

This paradox of flesh and spirit...
One being bright as the other dark
Withering it's flower aneath celestial's sun
Ageless, her renewing amid timeless waters
Metaphoric streams a cocoon, she waits ?
Restless these dreams to escape yes, to fly away.

I Love With No Regard

I have never been that smart
But I have been very witty
And I knew right from the start
That I am very gritty

I love with no regard
For hate does have no meaning
It throws some right off guard
That I am here for leaning

Searching for a friend
Has always been my life
It is my life to lend
No matter what the strife

The love we have to share
Is meant for us to use
Not for spreading some despair
And not meant to be abused

I love you with my soul
As the heart is metaphoric
It is my only goal
With a feeling so euphoric

Reallity of Metaphor...Rose

How ancient be the mystic Rose
the present me,a rite of passage
tucked between the written prose
rising spirit within' the masses

Metaphoric our fragrant flower
meteoric rise to power
attitude of love project
knowledge lost to those inept

Enmeshed in flesh,the physical
the stem which leads to spiritual
the eye of all atop the spinal
budding bloom our Godly mental

Understanding,key for many
outer self are thorns unsteady
negative action hurtful deem
retaliate of hate foreseen

Life could be a bed of Rose
if in our mind, our mental pose
without the thorny outgrowth,fear
within' is love to cherish dear.........

Look In the Mirror

When your point is fraught with nastiness
When your images and words have no classiness
Perhaps it’s time to look in the mirror
Perhaps it is you that people should fear
Are your words of love, joy peace, patience,
kindness, faithfulness, goodness, gentleness
and most of all self-control?
Do you wade with the masses
in their pictorial and metaphoric priggishness
I’m worried about you, world

Love As a Hydra

When did our love turn into a hydra?
With many faces peering out,
I don’t believe that’s what love is about.

Holding onto a tumultuous past,
Is easier than venturing into an unknown future,
Realizing present can never last.

Tenacity against adversity,
Is the inner strength,
That guides one through antiquity.

When unrequited love is the norm,
With not even a metaphoric amore to adorn,
My sadness echoes as loud as a runaway train,
I wonder if I’ll ever love again.

What is love anyway?
Is there anyone who really knows?
Because it starts from nothing,
And morphs as it grows.

Our Exhibition Before An Ignorant Audience

The scent still lingers on my fingertips
Of days and nights and houses on fire
We are the nostalgia of nothing that tires
A metaphoric phrase amongst the most literal of days
The poise and the name will always remain
My recent awakening, a beast nonesuch
And our mothers never knew as much
A stroke, a glance, a branded touch
`
So we dance within this hourglass
As if time is whipping by
For we neither have such a thing to waste
Nor are the fools to turn awry
We’ll continue these weightless rounds
Our limbs contently extended and sound
Tongues that talk of shapes and escapes
Oh, the routes we’ll take

Feeling Poetic

If I were a poem would I be sonnet or a rhyme or just a
metaphoric solution to the feelings that have settled
in my soul

Will I stand for peace and love or uncertainty and confusion
will my words mean something more than the regular or usual

Will a pair of wondering eyes read me and say that was very
profound or will they utter the words man I sure like the way
that sounds

Metaphoric Girl

Metaphoric Girl
By R.e. Taylor

You are the body of perfection
A face without a single flaw
The body of an ancient statue
The heart of a dragon
And the fierceness of a tiger
You also have something magical
Something that only you can have
You have the soul of God’s favorite angel
I know that you are just a person
But to me you are a miracle
A metaphoric dream
And a metaphoric nightmare
A creature to be loved and feared
And I am honored to know you

The Cat's Meow

You have this look about you
That melts me in my core
It makes me weak about the knees
And brings me to the floor
Of course this is metaphoric
But I had to let you know
You have this look about you
That makes my blood just flow

WOMAN sincerely I LOVE U DEARLY-

It's near suppertime
will you be mine
would you come and dine with me

Love not searching for it
Life so metaphoric
 together you and I
Love not searching for it
Can't look for what you already have

Let me state this very clearly Woman sincerely I love you dearly
Love not searching for it Can't look for what you already have it Come closer to me may I taste your lips
Let me state this very clearly Woman sincerely I love you dearly
