angel, appreciation, tribute,
They walk amongst us, but in silent ways,
spreading peace and love without any praise.
When thunder roars and lightning strikes in rain
they watch over us, healing bleeding pain.
Yet we do not see their celestial light,
nor do they shed feathers within our sight.
Happy to hide behind unknown faces,
empathy guides them to deprived places.
Heal and soothe, they prevent tears from flowing,
touch our hearts to leave our spirits glowing.
From Sydney to London, Rome to Bombay,
provide moments that take our breath away
Their acts of grace form a ripple effect,
kind gestures that help people to connect.

love, love hurts,
I still recall our first poetic glance,
dormant pen roused my fingers to dance.
Her love was like a cherry blossom tree,
which at first blossomed so beautifully.
When a tender breeze took each fragile bud,
we stood naked, vulnerable to the flood.
Broken branches fell, as love became silent,
our poems burned in fires, ever so violent.
Her absence formed a lawless state of mind,
vacant heart bled for memories left behind.
Some say sorrow washes away with rain,
but in heartbreak, torpid wounds leave a stain.
Love is a balance of peace and distress,
yet it's something two souls cannot suppress.

love, me, me,
You loved me just a little
You never loved me long;
But you gave my soul serenity
And gave my heart a song.
You loved me for a moment
I found it in your eyes;
But your mouth I could not capture
By temptation or surprise.
Sweet lips that I remember
With a poignant surge of pain
As one remembers fragrance
Of the softly falling rain.
Within this world of wonder
Without warning I feel sad;
The dream I hold still haunts me
For the kiss I never had.

RETREAT TO HEED OUR HONEST DEEDS
Two old oak trees weathered by winds and rain
with fallen leaves, branches and toughened bark
to shield a core of grandeur, and sustain
the wisdom borne to see the light from dark.
Two noble men aware of twilight time
both face evil world with courage and grace
Love and Nature gifts each, a life sublime
all standing with courage none can erase.
Each rooted within mother earth's great fold
weathering this world's darkest raging storms
images show lives lived regally and bold
tho' existing in weakened earthen forms.
With words of wisdom written in our seeds
we seek retreat to heed our honest deeds.

children, world, time,
The innocence lost so long ago
The undying faith we used to know
The gentle rain of a summer's skies
You can find it all in your child's eyes.
The world was right one time it seems
And we could reach beyond our dreams
To meet a challenge of any size
That fire still burns in your child's eyes.
In a world of anger and miscontent
And the frustrations of a life misspent
And you wait in fear as the storms arise
You can still find peace in your child's eyes.
Take the time for all those things
Hear his words: feel the joy he brings
There is no hate; there are no lies
There is only love in your child's eyes.

love,
When the last rain drop has fallen
and final word has been spoken.
When mercy is no longer our saviour,
remember, each time your heart beats,
with every sigh on the tip of your tongue,
my only wish was to forever love you,
stronger than the light that shone at sunrise,
warmer than the rays from that golden orb,
more powerful than the radiance of the moon
and with greater devotion than the stars.

lost love,
I stand here by the lakeshore, and I smell
fresh honeysuckle as I kiss the rain.
A memory that I cannot curtail
wafts bitter sweetly to me, and again
it’s May. . . the night you came by the moon's light.
The air was permeated by perfume
from blossoms colored innocently white.
But now it’s summer; yellow is each bloom.
When plump upon the vines, sweet berries, red,
will be swooped up by birds - carried away.
I stoop to touch a stem. How soon has fled
my flowered youth, and now this day chilled grey.
I bow in downpour like the vines bent low
while raindrops - glistening with my own tears - flow.

happiness, lost love, love,
Swept away
the last colour
of sunset,
Ocean in his eyes,
winds and waves
the sea-man loved.
Forever gone
the late-song
of night birds,
crushed corals,
sand and rocks
the sea-man loved.
Blown afar
the harvest seeds,
Flowers in his heart,
Petals in bloom,
Pale-pink blossoms
the sea-man loved.
Found and lost
the light of stars,
Alone He sailed
through narrow paths,
to mountain'shadows
the sea-man loved.
In hope to smell
the scent of her hair,
In hope to wipe
rain off her lips,
In hope to taste
her roasting- chestnuts,
to mend regrets
with just one kiss.

loneliness, lost love, missing you,
For where is the love that I seek,
My soul searches deeper still…
Hearts hibernating in mystique,
I surrender to its wavering will…
Looking up to sapphire skies,
May it rain pearls of passion…
Tears that fall from elusive eyes,
Are saved as reminiscent ration…
May I find your love in galaxies gold,
Your sculptural smile behind the veil…
Marooned to your mesmerizing mold
Lost at sea to your sequestered sail…
Can lonesome love eternally exist,
Where kept kisses are forever missed.

flying, hope, how i feel, journey, uplifting,
Each day I live and wake to see
the scarlet sun that shines for me
and listen to a feathered song
inviting me to sing along
I know I’ll find just what I seek
though rain may come to kiss my cheek
for with each day, with every sigh
there comes another chance to fly
The bluest blues of azure seas
are calling me now to appease
to leave behind an angry man
and wing away, I know I can
With love and grace, I’ll find the way
as I then glide through twilight gray
and to the clouds, I say goodbye
here comes another chance to fly

moon,
I kissed the moon tonight, enveloped
with quartz amulets of Luna
as luminous streams of stars
paint my poetic sky
glazed in citrine dust
tracing rain dews
in your eyes
to cleanse
these
scars
I hide
within teal
rivers, swiftly
ferrying lanterns
whilst wishing upon the
Milky Way that your cosmic
rhymes would save my aching soul from
drowning , so take my heart, engrave love

analogy, perspective, philosophy,
At first
love floats like a snowflake,
until it melts in your hand.
Then it falls,
like an Autumn leaf,
eventually swept away in the breeze.
Sometimes love offers mercy,
like April showers to rose petals,
but no rain can save from decay.
Love wants to be free like a kite,
flying colourfully in bright blue skies,
but grey clouds ruin its flight.
One day love will descend like sunset.
Maybe we are born to fall -
but love will always ascend again like sunrise.

gospel, weather,
In a hyacinth bed of seven stars,
winter fairies waltz in pearl elegance~
a token of faith engrossed amidst scars,
while skies drizzle rain in fruity essence.
Angel of sleep seeks through frost's icy thorn,
fallen feathers soar towards jasmine moon,
when lotus light within soul is reborn,
listen to the tree of life sigh and croon.
Somewhere between daisy dusks and rose dawns,
seeds of sun unfurl promises in gold,
sowing herbs of hope across sequined lawns.
In the realm of healing, love I behold.

She writes about Fall's beauty in the rain
The falling raindrops' dance ascribing thence
Bespoken verse that lightens her refrain
before the time they met - her steps commence.
She listens to the soft and rhythmic thrum,
her love turned to escape and cloudy string
Where nimbus mistletoe fell, tears to become
Their kiss of Autumn was symbolic ring.
The first light cotton mists with summer rays
While skyward cheerful laughs adorn the land,
their ceremonial dance diffuses grays,
affectionate embrace, where dreams expand.
Upon September's sky the raindrops gleam
With half of hidden Sun to laugh and beam.

death, love,
Alone in a meadow in the pouring rain
I find the stone that causes all my pain,
As I stumble through the fog in disbelief
I fall down upon my knees and sob in grief
The fog horn cries her mournful sound
As my heart falls down, beneath the ground
Crying out to God for mercy all in vain
To take away the stone that bears your name

love,
My love is gone, but he has not gone far.
I see his golden locks in waves of wheat,
the blaze of his blue eyes in each bright star;
in dewy blooms of red, his lips so sweet;
his smile in morning sun I rise to greet.
Oh, whether it be day or night, I swear
I see my wondrous lover everywhere!
His scent is with me too, for I inhale
him as I walk through woods of tall pine trees.
I taste him in fresh rain, and I can tell
that he is near me when a summer breeze
caresses me; my mind can be at ease!
For though he’s gone, I know my love will be
In beauty evermore surrounding me.

friendship,
You lined the clouds with silver,
You pushed away the rain.
You lifted some of my burdens
and shared with me my pain .
You gave me your most precious treasures,
A value no man can adjust.
Freely given without measure,
your loyalty ,patience ,and trust.
You eased my fears with confidence
and held sacred all my flaws,
Diminishing their apparent affect
through eyes of a higher cause.
You taught me how to appreciate
all that one can be,
Encouraged me through the eyes of love
to invest in a possibility.
Now I can line the clouds with silver and push away the rain again,
For through you I have seen that the greatest gift
is the gift of being a friend.

nature, romantic love, spring,
My heart returns to you like spring
Awakening with April rain
As pale petals tenderly cling
To promises of daylight's gain
I turn to you like seasons do
Dewy and fresh from winter's depth
Seeding our love in rainbow hues
Green life misting our mingled breath
Your eyes, once shy, now warmly bloom
Vast meadows of poppy sweet red
Our future in rosy perfume
Even after two decades wed
Once auburn, more silver does grow
Yet gleaming with color's recall
A blossom kept beneath the snow
You are my spring, summer and fall

Yesterday is gone I've forgotten it
I but have today to know I exist
I resist letting my today be wasted on drama
I am out sipping on sunshine
Gliding on life
Dancing in the rain while drinking rain drops
Have my fill on ice cream till I'm well content
Smile because I just love life
Love every unloved one
Give and share
because it makes me feel absolutely wonderful
And when night comes I'm up eating chocolates
while writing poems of my life's adventure

Hardened solid is the clay
That shapes the way I am today
I dream escape from endless grief
Restoring child-like belief
Experience has made me cold
Stolen who I was before
Left behind half of a whole
Changed the essence of my core
I wish to dance in brilliant light
Cleanse my soul with gentle rain
Slumber sound in dark of night
At dawn awaken without pain
Soar up high in skies above
Gaze down upon meadows green
To once again believe in love
To have faith in things unseen
Memories that formed the clay
Although impossible to do
Will them all to melt away
And live the bliss that I once knew

To marvel at rainbows

To feel melancholy
Life’s mysteries to explain
Choo Choo engine progress
days chugging like a train
The mysteries of oceans
far deeper than my pain
Why do I live carelessly
while others have to strain
I was born out of love
yet love is hard to maintain
My spirit begs me to listen
why do I yield to my brain
Yet desire keeps growing
I pray it will not wane
Life’s a horse to be ridden
I’ll cling tightly to its mane!

loneliness, lost love, sad,
A hollow heart devoid of love
is like a night no stars above,
or like an old abandoned well
whose empty echoes speak of hell.
A lonely heart will gently weep
as raindrops through her veins will seep,
and cascade down a pallid cheek,
and leave a weary spirit weak.
My broken spirit aches with pain
when sun sinks low at end of day,
and darkness douses hopes thereof
as midnight chimes amidst the rain.
These sad forsaken dreams portray
my hollow heart devoid of love.

And with my prepping airs—
It's all jeopardy to
Roll frost in bed somewhere.
Before the sun's pieces,
Rain in a golden chain.
I pine at streaked window.
How bitter is the fog
From where night morn dreams go.
Before the sun's pieces,
Ice below the outside,
In a bristling gesture—
God, now I see in you
Past my bleak reflections.
Before the sun's pieces,
While dawn is watched by moon,
Sun has the grace to gleam—
He'll come in the long fade,
For his Moon maiden, seen.
