They Told Me You Cried

They told me you cried on the day I died
A sob splintering through a silent dome
Your sorrow a shroud on the catacomb
As I laid where birds no longer replied
Now I watch as you slowly search the beach
For those rare shells edged in liminal blue
I would gift you that impossible hue
To show I was within sight, within reach

Yet I wish you more than what shadows grant
A life in the sun of a springtime glen
Not lost in the gloom of my grave's abyss
Let my legacy be the hope you plant
Blooming with the courage to love again
If you will keep something of me - keep this

Two Pairs of Shoes

Two pairs of shoes beside the bed.
Mine are tiny, his large instead.

His are steel toed, sandals are mine.
His dull and dark, but mine have shine.

Opposites yes, just like our shoes.
When I'm happy, he has the blues.

My secret to brighten his mood...
A large rare steak, his kind of food.

I like the soaps, he likes the news.
When I watch mine, he takes a snooze.

I can't stand to see people die...
Watching his news just makes me cry.

Even though, we might have a fight
Love keeps us together all night.

And each night when we go to sleep.
Two pairs of shoes, company keep!

Rare Are We

To me it's always been crystal clear
my emerald heart sheds tear after tear

Intense, easy to emote
it's to love I devote

His golden flakes beat in me like needs
I fill my lungs string him in like beads

As rare as four leaf clovers - we are for real
I must bare my heart for him to also feel

Sequins Of Savannah Sunset

I'm an estuary of ivy-furs, sleeping in monsoonal moonglades of love~ as the savannah sun of sunset blurs, slowly unveiling stars with golden glove. When russet- fairies twirl in a bronze lake, singing with springs of watermelon wand, an untouched summer unfurls behind ache, lacing twilights with lush wishes, so fond. Garden of grapefruit, doesn't forbid faith, exotic eyes paint life with a rare art, where hilly hues drape seashores ~ daisy-bathe, my muse weaves magic on the 'bay of heart'.

Sequence of Love

"Sequence of Love" Love possesses many faces occurring in romantic places culminated by embraces ... Love illuminates the soul intertwining halves to whole fulfilling a human, earthly role ... Love radiates rare quality increasing to a sweet degree of everlasting ecstasy ... Love invades enchantingly perhaps, appears repeatedly, but only once, comes sacredly ... eventually ...

Still Love You More Than As Before

Thousand years! Thousand years it is
Long living like the undying breeze
Deep down my self, deep down my ease
In the thick bark of my heart a love does exist
Thousand years ago
There exist for my mood, a flower that glows
Regulating my heartbeat and blood flow
Raising my guts up and down, in rows
Making my emotions like trumpets blow
Thousand years! Oh so long many years
And I can still feel the pricks of her lovely spear
And the scent of her placating presence, like roses very rare
Oh thousand years, and the love still exist, yes!
I still love you, till forever nonetheless

The Depression Destroyer

What causes someone to sink so low
And let an upright spirit to kneel and bow
To the pressures they are unable to undo
Neither can reverse this malady nor subdue?

Let us not someone retreat in the darkest nook
Before we try all the remedies in the book,
Replenish her love and together ardently pray
And shower her with care night and day.

Disheartening it is to see one of our own thus bear
The burden that lays on her heavy and rare;
Hang in there, Linda! Have faith--PERSEVERE,
Forget not who you are--The poet Destroyer!

Wishing you all the best, Linda, and a speedy recovery!

Indulgence

Sweet the taste of honeyed lips
Upon my own, now drenched in bliss
Nectar tempting, beckoning with
Passion's most consuming kiss

Outpouring tenderness so softly
Though hearts are heavy, they alight
Engulf each thought of rationale
As we succumb to this delight

Outside nothing else exists
While this rare moment we prolong
Ceasing fight and argument, now
We give in to the siren song

The melody we play entrances
As would hypnotic pendulum
Heart strings strum forbidden dances
As it beats a savage drum

Leading up to its crescendo
The rhythm pounds erratically
Pulsing, raging, beats the tempo
Until we find our ecstasy

Caviar Dreams

You
Were just
A poem
that i dreamt of
on a maple gold caviar smeared dawn
as darkness held my quill from bleeding ink
i found rare rouge
pink orchids
Sprout as
love
from
your soft
spoken words
that linger through
riveting riverscapes of moon diamonds.

Mystery Of love

Who can say where it comes from?
Only that it’s there, when least expected,
thought to be rare if not obsolete

One night, the air a swirl of restless
dream and moonbeam, we are kept awake
by a tingling...an unsettling of the
heart

the longing for another, also, searching
for a missing part

We scold ourselves, a thousand times

been there, done that, sought
fulfillment in silly love rhymes

yet, compelled as addicts
in an opium den, together

we will try to write heaven again

In a Perfect World

If we lived in a perfect world, love would naturally abound. And in this utopic dreamworld, there would be no hurt to be found. Peace and brotherhood would nourish hope and idealistic dreams. And Nature's critters would flourish, in our oceans, rivers, and streams. From rare orchids to edelweiss, flowers would encircle Earth's girth. And we'd all live in paradise; a virtual heaven on Earth. All diseases would disappear, and no one would die of hunger. And only crying happy tears; even the old would feel younger. But alas, the world isn't that way; disease and cruelty persist. And starvation is here to stay, for warfare and famine exist.

Windwalker

I
knew a Tiger
who swam with dolphins
along the razor’s edge

and
meditated with a yellow bird
under his honey’s tree
in a west coast garden.

A
rare breed
from an indigenous
creed.

His
poetic wisdom
written with
zen.

He
sung his songs
in syllables:
5-7-5 and 5-7-5-7-7.

His
beloved’s last kiss
left him fragrant roses
when she crossed over.

Where
did our
Windwalker
go?

Lava
beads, sky lanterns,
and a beautiful
rainbow.

Is
he crying with Coyotes
to the moon or on
heaven’s Windswept Shore?

I
knew a Tiger
who walked
with the wind.

Just Within Reach

Just within reach - if only I could dare
to pluck that fruit! A luscious peach or pear?
No, not one of these! Metaphorically
I’m speaking! Like a bauble on a tree,
he brightly sparkled, beautiful and rare.

His eyes and lips were tender, and his hair -
smooth onyx framing one sweet face so fair!
That precious night I found sheer poetry
                                             just within reach.

To think I touched that face and loved to stare
at it, imagining the life we’d share
perhaps one day . . . but it was not to be.
My fondest dream had possibility
till circumstance replaced what had been there
                                             just within reach!

Fall Down Together Love

Ruby all boils down
to you in every dream hot
one vision cannot shake free

Visiting center
nerve glows of everlasting
beauty flowering blossoms

Singing jewel gem
voice of a sweet angel kiss
eyes faraway mystery

Rose your soft petals
touch the deepest chambers
swept away ocean tides wave

Pearl of the deep sea
crowning queen between two
shells holding such rare color love
embracing ring one daisy

Thanksgiving Day

Around the grown up table bowed in prayer
Familiar faces etched upon my mind
Back then, I never thought the love we shared
Would be so rare, to be one of a kind

How blessed we were in fam'ly fellowship
When kids would play outside 'til called to eat
We held our backyard football championship
While moms and aunts swapped recipes for sweets

And then we'd form a circle holding hands
Each one would say what they were thankful for
As faces disappear I understand
The love we shared will last forevermore

Thanksgiving Day we'll gather once again
I'll say I'm thankful for my time with them

Adoring Lines To a Flower of Brazil

I love a lovely maid—a Flower
     of the sun-baked land of Brazil;
ageless, she by clock's every hour
makes the time be perfectly still.

Though fair and gorgeously pretty,
she longs to be known and adored
for her heart and inward beauty,
where love is felt and richly stored.

She's queenly and wears a lush crown,
     a regent who sits on her throne;
a Rose, she's praised and of renown,
and prized for her rare grace alone.

Too selfless and giving and kind
to disappoint, she lives to care
and gives alms to the lame and blind,
and for me always says a prayer.

A Raven's Thirst - Part 2

II

Afar across cool waves on quiet shores,
beneath each rising sun her beauty grew,
as pure as falling snow, the skin she wore
aglow with radiance as sweet as dew.

Soft burnished raven tresses, black as night,
caressed her face then fell in silk cascade,
and honeyed tones adorned a voice, so light,
that echoed from blush lips in serenade.

As days and many months of time weaved on
she blossomed, as a rose of scent so rare,
yet of her many suitors she’d have none,
dismissed with gentle wave of hand so fair.

A lone and wistful silver moonlit stroll
unearths a song that strangely stirs her soul.

You Fill My Bowl

My dearest love who makes me whole
Fills drafty places in my soul
Where grief and sorrow left a hole
Your loving ladle fills my bowl

Each loving touch removes a trace
of painful scars that mark a place
where hateful love seared every space
Sad, broken life and battered face

Your love a rare and precious pearl
New hope and joy we will unfurl
Forever blessed, my heart's a whirl
Transcends all pain poured on this girl

Tribute To a Brother

One of a kind So rare today
A privileged to have known
A true gentleman in every way
So gifted
His poems so uplifting
So full of love and appreciation
Would brighten up our darkest days.

I never was lucky enough to have a brother
But Erich was a brother to all like no other
So caring he gave so much
Even though we live over oceans
Everyone still felt his special touch.

Sleep now our brother
For it won't belong
Before you walk through natures garden once more
And hear the bluebirds song
When tears of sadness are turned to tears of joy
As we see your smiling face again.

The Blessing

When I held the rose of you
Sweetest lavender began flooding through the veins

Melting into the soul's echo lovingly wrapped up
in cotton softness beholding treasures find

Sparkling diamond light shines silver lining footprints
with the dewdrops amazing gems crown perfection

Under a halo upon the mantel there grace sits
So beautiful and rare as the morning smiles

With colours drawn inwardly a special promise arches
upon an angel whom appears though the breath held light

Always and forever dressed as a dove purely angelic
Swept away breathless beyond space

Take the Leap Into My Heart

Frolic into these open arms that need you.
Melt into my lips, and let them feed you.

Let the breath of love's kiss
and my eager feet lead you

into my heart's majestic garden.
Bloom freely, my beauty. I'll never weed you.

There is one trophy in this growth,
and it is, indeed, you.

Should my rare rose be cut,
my garden will truly bleed you.

Passionate Kiss

Morning light wears a softer hue,
embracing wet leaves, glistening in the sun.
Thick grass brings a caressing warmth, to our feet,
as we travel gentle slopes,
to farthest hills, as lovers do.
Our palms closed tight like oyster shells,
covering rare pearls,
as we watch pastel red skies turn a velvet blue

If I were a bird I would glide above you,
dipping my wing each time you smiled,
allowing love's fragrance to fill our lungs,
until they burst, releasing butterflies into the world,
like a thousand tiny finger paintings,
surrounding the innocence of love,
that comes when two mouths melt in silence.

A Woman In Search of Happiness

Happiness is expensive; it is something so rare,
It's there to be savored, a moment that's fair.
Clutch to the moment, extend its brief stare.
It comes on suddenly but it’s all wear and tear.

Yet I do believe that love lurks around,
Just search for it since to it you are bound.
You know that I found it in a most unlikely place?
In a small poorly child, hungry with a dirty face
Abandoned by all. So I gave her something to wear,
Also some bread, a mixture of fruit, an apple and pear.
When she looked up, scrutinizing me with glee,
Her lips smiled tenderly, then giggled at me.

Soul Mate

A soul mate is not perfection of shallow attractions
But a love that many read about so unique and rare
Realness that is deep and sincere - a lasting bond
One not sugar coated or glowing with bright light
What a priviledge to know - it would be so profound
To share harmony, such balance - ying and yang
Fitting like a glove with fingers out stretched
Neither held back together encouraged to grow
It's like pen and paper and mind connecting words
Creating a union of mind, body and soul
