Sleeping Beauty

She gazed into my haunted eyes
Knowing my devotion was absolute and complete
She fulfilled my nefarious dreams
Ever so peaceful in her green eyed slumber
She struggled with the rope and tape
I whispered in her ear
Relax, your destiny is clear
You shall sail to the sweetest of places
I shall allow you your escape
Slowly, smothered with my pillowed love
She lies lifeless
In peace
With my poems upon her chest
She has found paradise at last
As the light fades from the far away sea
Old roads become watery graves
North she sails with my words upon her very soul

My Heart Belongs To Wales

MY HEART BELONGS TO WALES..............

Where the seas blue waters rise and fall,
Where the velvet hills stand strong and tall.
When the voice of bygone years does call,
I know where my heart belongs.

Where the voices of all angels sing,
In a stadia built fit for a king.
With a pride that's borne from deep within,
I know where my heart belongs.

As spring time flowers caress the lands,
Grass clad mountains and golden sands.
A passion that my past commands,
I know where my heart belongs.

When I come home, with friends I'll be,
In my homeland where my heart is free.
No prouder people than such as we,
My heart belongs to Wales.........

I Used To Believe In Fairytales

I used to believe in
fairytales
Happily Everafter and
Wedding Bells
Drifting on the ocean,
under open sails
Hearing the echoing
waves thru seashells
Feeling as if I'm on
Cloud Nine instead of
nails
Being royalty like Our
former, Princes of Wales"
Having a passion for LOVE,
that's tipping the scales
Yeah, I Used To Believe
In Fairytales

Down Under Doll

Here I am standing on my feet in North America. However, the place I would rather be is Australia. There lives a pretty little woman I adore. With each passing day, I love her just a little more. I can just picture her standing on that New South Wales shore. She's got me hopping around like a kangaroo. Thinking about her is making me blue. If I had to swim the ocean, then that's just what I will do. How much would it cost to get the plane fare? I want her so badly. I want to fly through the air. That little Aussie woman is the one I want to see. Down under, I know she's there waiting for me.

Southern Hemisphere Lady

A special lady is very far away from here, I wish I were in the Southern Hemisphere. The nighttime stars are in different configurations. They form many unfamiliar constellations. When I meet her, I will be spending numerous nights with this fine woman enjoying her delights. She can make the stars fall down from the sky. Give me a plane ticket, and I am a lucky guy. Somewhere on the New South Wales beach sands, I can just picture her where she stands. Everything about the woman is an invitation. Hello Qantas, I want to make a reservation.

Cymru

My country is the Land of Song
With roving hills to walk upon
Valleys deep where rivers flow
Smiling people where err you go.

Lovely beaches to enjoy
Castles galore to explore
Sporting country where Rugby is played
European champions at this game

A red dragon is on our flag
An unusual one I guess
Once seen never forgotten
It surely does impress

We love to sing, have choirs galore
Brass bands too abound
Our accents make us sound so cool
We have music all around

Cymru is what we call ourselves
Our language is unique
To those who haven’t guessed our name
Its’ WALES of which I speak.

My Homeland

You land that bare your baron hills and alabaster skies
Pastured fields of emerald green, the roman's left behind
Golden meadows stand arrayed, a tapestry unfolds
The air of medievel thoughts, a mystery of old
As I look yonder to the east a shepard tends his sheep
for you a nation not so learnt, your beauty you must keep

My dancing thoughts oh land of song, the harp and all who sing
with poetry and bairds that long to keep the love she brings
All through my journey's mile to mile and many leasons learned
oh! wales my love I promise you to you I will return.

1988

1988
It was so long ago but to me it seems like yesterday,
times were great and music was something to die for.
I lived in a secure world of good friend and parties
and days out in the sun. My music was the Bangles and T’Pau
all singing about love and freedom. I was in love
through the summer, my emotions setting the world on fire.
I’d get my YTS money and I’d go to Wales and live my life
in an intense three months of love with a Welsh gal.
My friends were the best and the future looked bright.
Yes I did discover you can live your dreams and dream your life.

Impossible Dreams

Come to Australia she said lightly
You’ll love the beaches
So I dove into her poetry
To see what aussie land was like
Such bodacious formality
Such outrageously beautiful prose
The majesty of it all
All those masked contented feelings
Family familiar winking at the night
All pounding beneath the polished
Veneer of armored gentility
Sweet slow afternoon teas
Late morning crumpets and marmalade
Alas I cannot lass though dearly
Would I love to try.
Spin me tales of twisted eucalyptae
Brown burnt grass and men
Winds and sandy gritty rutted roads
And the sight of gulls awing along the bay
Is New South Wales a mirror of the Old?

While I Am Still Sure

love
is
a ghost white ship
drifting
along
the
red cliffs of Wales
while
i
am still sure

Day Slides Away

Day slides away unspoken
Over the timeless hill
Dark oak and ash
Stencil the fading light
Black flickers of roost-bound rooks
Imprint the low sky’s cushion clouds
While half a world away
God’s turning Earth unfurls
Another’s bright Antipodean dawn.

I love sitting outside as the daylight fades, witnessing the departure of another day – a day never to be experienced again.
In 2003 at Llansadwrn in Wales, found me coming to grips with the awesome truth that I was on a vast globe which was forever turning, exactly as God designed!
