love,
How many images can I paint more
than I’ve already done? Like nights moon-lit
or meadow-dancing? You - whom I adore -
in every love scene - you’re the star of it.
The many colors! Oh, each brilliant hue.
I splashed them giddily when we shared bliss.
I’ve given sunsets, snow and spring to you -
Sweet passion’s words for you, Dear, and a kiss
I’ve always left down on the corner of
each canvas in our life, for there’s no me
without you, and there’s nothing but our love
to get us through, and sometimes tragedy
I’ve painted too – deep ocean’s blue – yet still,
I’ll paint you always lovely with my quill.

animal, girl, happiness, innocence,
This world of trouble soon will pass
For there beyond the crystal glass
A lamb and lion tread the grass
Beside a lass, beside a lass
This cord of present time shall break
And hate and fear shall flee and quake
Oh, may all vice this earth forsake!
And love awake! And love awake!
Oh, see him walk 'neath mighty trees!
The king of beasts; what strength and ease!
Yet now content this lass to please
Her hand to tease, her hand to tease
Behold! A pleasant form and face!
The child of beauty crowned with grace!
Fair Una treads at even pace
A better place, a better place

sea, sunset,
One painting shows a twilight sky.
I gaze at it. It makes me sigh.
I stand there for the longest time.
Inside my mind there comes a rhyme.
Beneath the brilliant sky I see
the waters of infinity.
And staring at the wondrous scene,
I’ve now dissolved into its dream.
I’ve turned into the waves that rise,
which match the blue-green of my eyes.
And as I rise, I long to touch
the hues of sky I love so much.
Deep violet and rosy pink
of sunset’s sky begin to sink
into the briny depths of me.
I’m rhythm, rhyme, and sky and sea!

Where there are tears
There are no words
Where there is music
There are no words
Where there is painting
There are no words
Where there is love
There are no words
Where there is passion
Words run and hide
Where there is sadness
There are no words
Where there is poetry
The poet attempts justice to the word
Where there are tears
The poet mystically appears
Where there is death
There are words
Proclaiming dominance to all before
Music art and philosophy
For not all are artists and musicians
All we have left are words and sorrows
How so very sad
And so very absurd

autumn, nature,
October brings us panoramic scenes
Picassoesque impressionistic style
From reds to browns and earth tones in between
When nature paints those landscapes that beguile
The helpful sun provides hot yellow paint
Which bleeds and blends from mountains to the seas
There are no signs that nature shows restraint
As hues are scattered by the autumn breeze
Yet with her madness comes a masterpiece
The reason for spring's jealousy of green
Before her creativity has ceased
Her orange and black spills on Halloween
October means peace, love, and harmony
Get with your friends, enjoy fall's scenery

Winter snow glistens painting our landscape white.
Luna peers down from her lofty height
bestowing her lovely glow
as winter winds blow
cold outside
snow
warm inside
with hearth's fire aglow
in loving arms of my beau.
We both give thanks for this special night.
Winter snow glistens painting our landscape white.

Last leg home, the sun setting in the polluted haze of the city,
looks Like I feel, my thoughts a golden glow, every brushstroke
I've painted filling the sky with my love for you...a painting
that will begin anew....with the sunrise
........with the sunrise
Though your footprints belong to you,
my heart..... travels your path
Endless, as it should be,
your destiny rewards my memory

love,
Thinking of you I’m painting of love
Ascribing endearing brushstrokes
Ambivalent of my reach to inform
As I adumbrate upon soul’s canvas
Come build this portrait with me
Emblazon those empty spaces
Color them boldly as you please
Embolden contours of your wishes
And when your heartbeats speak
Indulge them in enamored feelings
Savoring love’s treasured meaning
As flame of passion ignites within
Clasp this wave beckoning now
Lift us, dear, to crest from trough
Glide merrily riding tides of awe
But paint us, my love~ as we are

Like a Seurat painting
I view my life up close
and see a million tiny colored dots:
eating breakfast
driving to work
writing a poem
watching television
playing a game
singing a song
going to the park on a Sunday afternoon
You view these dots
from the proper distance,
blend them together
with kind, generous eyes
and you see art

Life is a smile of a newborn in mother's arms
Arts and crafts of stained glass from grains of sand
Freedom of a chick on its very first flight
Love of a mother scurrying beside a young fawn
Float on a lotus pond in style of white swans
Lyrics of nature scripted in nightingale's song
Painting in vermilion tints rising on meadows of fall
Rivers rushing down from spring mountaintops
Romance in lover's eyes watching a new dawn
Wonder in breath of a single-celled amoeba

painting the cloudless sky
with shades of red, yellow and peach
Arm in arm two figures silhouette in the distance
closer and closer they stroll
stepping out onto the old fishing pier
the pair gaze out over the glasslike pond
with the occasional ripple rolling gently
Darkness comes upon them
and they kiss
a long and deep kiss
you can hear her speak in the silence

august, beauty, good morning, nature,
In case I've forgotten it
I wish you a lovely morning
Fill your coffee cup with sunshine
With glory and grace
A soft whispering sunshine
is surrounded with love
A fountain refreshing in your face
Of this beauty
I photograph this picture in my soul
and hiding it for dark winter days
The silence, the sun, the smell of honeysuckle
and flames of the northern lights
Yellow sunshine and blue sky, I want to paint
Nature's wonders, is forever dear

art, beautiful, smile,
La Gioconda or Mona Lisa is the name I’m called
When our eyes meet I know you’ll be enthralled
I sit here so serenely in my gorgeous gilded frame
People flock to see me, they love to say my name
Mona Lisa, people coo as they look at my lovely smile
I gaze back intently, my sweet smile it does beguile
My Parisian home’s been the Louvre for many years
One glimpse of my face can move my visitors to tears
I used to worry that I’d get bored hanging high upon the wall
But with a constant stream of admirers I don’t get bored at all

Nobody knew
about the secrets
Your life painting
in beautiful colors
so that it is
nice to admire
by others
Fragile as
butterfly's wings
but no illusion
Love restricted
From subject to object
in just a moment
To meet the knife edge of the gaze
When we look at each other
The truth
Bury your demons
Make meaningful choices
The values of life must be harvested

Sanguine blush, outreaching its origin,
Roses bloom across the painting.
The sky extends its insubstantial limb,
Spreading its fingers- in gesture towards you.
A great fan, coral but crimson,
Shifting, yet still- tumbling across eternity.
The horizon appears, in a flash of pink rainbow,
Love, of the universe, of humanity,
Of life, appears… and evaporates; a gradual decline,
of colour; but so sudden too,
And we are left once more,
In solitude.

How can you ask someone to stop loving without care
an impossible task even for the hardest of hearts
If I were the last person on this planet sunshine through clouds

You've inspired me to reach ever higher
as we launch into our new beginning
No storm or perils will break our meld
It's a partnership, not a confinement
respect, love and trust are intertwined
It's in your devoted love that I'm freed
Free to live, love and share life with you

Memory will keep your beauty on hold
For autumn afternoons when leaves turn gold
And on wintry eves when the days are cold.
Years will drift by like clouds upon the wind,
Painting the dappled landscape of my mind
With visions of impressionistic hue
Of love I left behind when I was new.
A view from afar is never so dear
As the heartfelt warmth of one who is near.
I’d rather share the seasons as they pass
Then scan them through memory’s looking glass.

deep, lost love, pain,
Within the subtle soundless silence
There exist echoes of a lingering loud
My pendulous heart decrees in defiance
Such emotions plundered and ploughed
Like a geocentric giant guillotine
My lamenting love sacrificially sliced
My soul slaved in the Enigma machine
Where dreams are deceptively diced
The loving light battles the darkest day
And sorrows surrender at portals gate
For love barely escapes the submissive sway
Marauding memories reminisce and recreate
Stained surreal abiding accumulative art
A priceless painting of my Pendulous Heart.

Cross my heart,
Hope to die.
I won’t tell a soul,
That you were mine tonight.
Tucked alone,
In the dark.
With a pillow and a smock.
Painting a picture,
Of the moon and sky,
Upon the canvas.
As the meteors flew by.
This picture was beautiful.
Covered in detail,
Glimmered like the sea,
And in the background were you and me,
Laying together,
Watching it all,
As it happened,
When it happened,
Those many years ago.
I cross my heart,
Hope to die.
I won’t tell a soul,
That we made love that night.

If I knew Picasso,
I’d say Pablo come and see.
Bring your canvass here,
And capture this beauty.
I’d ask him as he painted,
The things he’s thinking of.
If painting brought him peace,
As he paints a painted love.
I‘d watch as he stroked,
The canvass from his soul.
It would leave me in awe,
If I knew Picasso.
